Returns & Refunds Policy
1. Overview
At Empower UK Employment Training (brand of Explore Management Limited), we want you to be satisfied with your purchase. We offer a 14-day refund period (the “Cooling-off Period”) for most online course purchases. However, this is subject to conditions, especially once course access has begun.
2. Cooling-off Period & Change of Mind Refunds
2.1 Standard 14-Day Right to Cancel
-
You have the right to cancel your purchase within 14 days from the date you buy the course (this is consistent with the UK’s Consumer Contracts Regulations).
-
To cancel, you must notify us (by email to inquiries@ukemploymenttraining.co.uk) within that 14-day period, before you access or begin using the course content.
2.2 Access & Waiver of Cooling-off
-
Once you access or begin using any part of the course (e.g. logging in, streaming, downloading materials), you waive your right to a full refund under the basic cooling-off rules, unless exceptional circumstances apply.
-
In such cases, we may offer a partial refund proportional to the portion of the course not yet delivered or accessed, at our discretion.
2.3 Misuse / Abuse of Policy
-
If we reasonably believe the policy is being exploited (for example, full completion of content shortly after purchase solely to claim a refund), we reserve the right to refuse or reduce a refund.
-
We will evaluate usage logs, progress, and access history in such cases.
3. Auto-Renewal Subscriptions
-
For annual subscription services (i.e. auto-renewal after a year), once a renewal has occurred, you forfeit the right to a refund of that renewal — regardless of how early in the term the cancellation is made.
-
You must cancel future renewals before the renewal date to avoid payment.
4. Course Not as Described / Faulty Content
If you believe a course materially fails to deliver what was promised or is defective (e.g. content inaccessible, major errors, misrepresentation):
-
Contact us within 14 days of purchase with details (order number, nature of defect).
-
We may offer to re-perform, correct the content, substitute equivalent content, or issue a refund (full or partial), depending on severity.
-
This is separate from your general change-of-mind rights and is based on statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act.
5. Refunds Procedure & Timing
-
Once a refund is approved, we will process it using the original payment method (unless you and we agree otherwise).
-
Refunds are normally made within 7-14 business days, though the time may vary depending on the payment provider or bank.
-
You will be notified by email once the refund has been initiated.
6. Non-Refundable / Excluded Cases
We reserve the right to decline a refund or limit refund amounts in the following situations:
-
You have already accessed substantial content (as noted in Section 2.2).
-
The course is a customised, bespoke, or specially commissioned training not offered to the general public.
-
You have requested a refund after the 12-month limit (if your original purchase was older).
-
The renewal of an auto-renewing subscription (as stated in Section 3).
-
You have already obtained the content fully and used it.
In each case, we will clearly explain our decision and calculations, if applicable.
7. How to Request a Refund
To request cancellation or refund:
-
Email us at inquiries@ukemploymenttraining.co.uk with your order number, purchase date, and reason.
-
We will review your request and respond (approve or decline) within 5 business days.
-
If approved, refund will follow our refund procedure in Section 5.
8. Updates & Changes to Policy
We may update this Returns & Refunds Policy from time to time (for legal, operational, or business reasons). The latest version will always be visible on our website.
If changes are material (adversely affecting your rights), we will notify you (e.g. via email) before they apply to existing customers.
